This report found millions of dollars had been spent publishing falsehoods, even creating false evidence to try to make good men appear wicked, or even just common.
This report was highly controversial, so much so that it was very nearly not published for fear of the member’s safety. By the time it was published, another smear campaign had lessened the credibility of its members in the eyes of many Americans.
The truth, however, does not rely upon popularity to remain true and relevant.
